Listing Guidelines

Detailed submission guidelines are provided during the submission process, once you have registered with us. We urge you to read these 'listing guidelines' and the 'submission guidelines' in full. The more effort you put into your listing submission, the more you will benefit from Travel Websites Directory.

If you find that your website is already listed within Travel Websites Directory, for example if you operate an affiliate scheme, we still recommend that you set up an account. We can then pass your listing over to your account, where you can check the categories/sub-categories your listing is featured within and if you wish upgrade the listing(s) to a higher package.

For new listings, if you operate an affiliate scheme, please note that we require that the link from your listing to your website operates on an affiliate basis. We will obtain the code for this from the affiliate network that you use or request it direct if this is not available (or if you operate your scheme in-house).

Travel Websites Directory has been designed to enable customers to find relevant websites quickly. They are provided with a comprehensive navigation system and will generally always be within two clicks of a relevant results page.

We therefore allow (and encourage) listings to appear in as many categories and sub-categories as are relevant.

In short, if you sell a product as part of your core offer and it is clear from your home page that you sell the product concerned, your listing can appear in the category and sub-category concerned.

Generally speaking, most listings will appear in one or more product categories (e.g. Flights, Overseas Hotels/Accommodation) and the relevant sub-categories (e.g. Charter Airlines). To enable our users to find travel websites by destination, we also allow tour operators, the major online travel agents and relevant destination specific websites, to appear in our 'Destinations (Europe)' and 'Destinations (Rest of World)' categories and any relevant sub-categories.

Where possible, we prefer to see listings that have content that is directly relevant to the category they feature within. Therefore if you have different sections within your website for different products, you may set a separate listing up for each product, using a deep link. Please note that this is only permissible if you have a static URL for the page concerned, which is unlikely to change (so as to avoid future broken links). Each listing will require a separate submission and, if appropriate, a separate fee.

Please note that the ability to deep link for different products for free affiliate based Bronze packages, is only available if tracking code is made available for each deep link.

For websites listed free of charge on a Bronze package on a reciprocal link basis, only one free listing will be granted per link to Travel Websites Directory.

Other guidelines:

Our website is targeted at UK users, whether they are travelling within the UK or overseas. We will consider non-UK based websites for inclusion in the directory, but they must be directly relevant to the UK traveller and of course be written in English. Overseas websites submitting themselves to Travel Websites Directory, can only do so having accepted our 'Terms & Conditions', which state that English law shall apply.

Only companies with a website may list themselves with Travel Websites Directory.

Our site design is generally geared towards websites which sell a range of hotels/properties. Therefore listings from individual hotels/properties will be only accepted where there is an obvious sub-category for them to be listed within. Other hotels/properties may like to consider a specialist accommodation directory.

Each separate URL or domain name requires a separate submission and, if appropriate, a separate fee, although if you have multiple websites you can manage them from one account.

Only websites of a certain quality and relevance will be accepted and this decision will be at the discretion of the editor.
